Germany is the main center for inventor company Bayer’s research activities. Supporting excellent young scientists in Germany is therefore a key factor for the Group’s success.

From the summer semester 2011, the Bayer foundation will finance for five years a total of 100 recipients of  "Deutschlandstipendien" at 23 universities throughout Germany. The foundation is providing an additional EUR 900,000 for this purpose. The sponsored universities choose the recipients of the scholarships themselves.

An overview of universities currently receiving funding can be found here.
The foundation provides ambitious students who benefit from "Bayer Deutschlandstipendien" with more than just financial support. Recipients are also included in the alumni (in German) of the Bayer foundation – a network that allows them to regularly exchange ideas, contact Bayer researchers and find tailor-made jobs.
For further details of the "Deutschlandstipendien", please visit the information pages of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (in German).
