The foundation’s philosophy is to give more than just monetary donations. That’s why – in the context of the voluntary programs – the foundation supports current and former Bayer employees, as well as residents of the communities near the company’s sites who are looking to assume responsibility for others and become active in social projects.

The Aspirin Social Award supports innovative, non-profit social projects in the health sector that provide effective help for people and pursue new ideas and approaches. The prize will be presented by the foundation for the first time in spring 2010.

The Bayer Cares Foundation also provides donations, quickly and unbureaucratically, to people around the world, who suddenly find themselves in a situation of acute hardship following occurrences such as natural disasters. Emergency aid also means initiating sustainable reconstruction projects.
