Conditions for application
These conditions apply for the Bayer, Carl Duisberg, Kurt Hansen and Hermann Strenger Scholarships. You will find further information on the Bayer School Scholarships here.
| Who receives support? | Academic scholarships: Undergraduate students in their advanced study period Hermann Strenger Scholarships: Young people in the final stages of their non-academic vocational training or those who have successfully completed their training within the last two years |
| What receives support? | Projects abroad by applicants from German-speaking countries and projects in Germany by foreign applicants, such as internships, training courses, clinical work experience periods, semesters abroad, research projects, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral thesis projects. Regular support for studies in applicants’ home countries is not offered. |
| How long is support provided? | Up to 1 year |
| How much monetary support is provided? | Support is generally intended to cover the cost of living, travel costs and incurred project costs. Each applicant can request a specific amount of support by submitting a “cost plan”, and the Board of Trustees then comes to a decision based on this request. |
| When is the scholarship paid out? | The scholarship is paid out in installments according to an individually agreed payment plan. |
| What qualifies as project costs? | Study fees, lab materials, books, seminars, language courses and lectures. |
| Do I need a specific project? | Yes, as well as a written acceptance by the institution at which you will realize your project. |
| When can I apply? | The application period 2010 for the scholarships has ended. The next call for applications in 2011. |
| When will I find out whether I have been selected to receive support? | The selection meeting for 2010 will take place on September 10, 2010. |
